Okay, so I've had to download SO MANY updates to Windows
that now I have about %15 less memory than when I bought
my computer a year ago. My question is: Once I download a
service pack, can I go back download the
little "hotfixes" or are they not included in the service
pack. There has to be something I can do because it's
riduculous how much memory is being taken up by Windows,
when originally I has a ton of it.

Feel free to email. Thanks.

A bit of a terminology problem here.

*Memory* is normally used to refer to RAM - the chips that the
computer uses to hold information and program code that it is actually
using.

*Storage* is normally used to refer to space on the hard drive,
because that is what it is. The hard drive is best thought of as the
equivalent of a filing cabinet where items are kept until they are
needed.

Windows updates can be deleted, provided you are certain you have no
need to uninstall them, and are prepared to download and reinstall
them again if necessary. But the disk space is so relatively
minuscule that it seems hardly worth the bother. What are they using
- two dollars worth of space?

Good luck
