Can anyone point me to membership databases, my searches are not proving very
successful.

membership of what??? this user group??? if so, you'll have
a hard time finding a membership list as virtually anyone
who has web access can 'join' the group either thru their
newsgroups provided by their ISP or by one of the many pay
subscription newsgroup companies that include it in theirs

This may not be much help but I used a free one a couple years ago that is
still around. I believe it is still donationware....

Try searching with the term "create an organization" or "organizational
database creator" or similar terms. That's how I found the one I used.

It was set up for names, info, addresses, and sundry useful entries.

It's out there.... I received an e-mail from the organization that sponsors
the program a couple months ago.

Open Office: http://www.openoffice.org/. It's pricelessware and it's not
difficult to set up for names, dues, subcategories, etc., etc.

An excellent membership database that takes a bit of know how, and also
writtten for the server, is infocentral.org.

It is written specifically for church memberhsips, but I am sure there
are ways of modifying it.
