I have a site that I want to add several pages to. However, I want only
those clients that have paid their retainer fee to have access to them. I am
using FP 2003 on an Vista based computer. I don't know about the ISP at this
time.

Any help that yall can give is greatly appreciated. I have seen responses
for everything from subwebs to PHP to asp and am very confused.

Thank you!

You're going to have to know what O/S the host is going to be using, and
what they support.

I'm using Httpme for Linux hosting, they have CPanel for admin, I can
password protect any folder/directory with either a single user or for
multiple users with unique passwords. I've used this one quite a bit.

For my Windows hosting, I use webhost4life, they also have an admin
function to password protect folders/directories. I haven't actually
used this one.

I don't see any options to protect individual "pages", only
folders/directories so you'd have to put John Smith's "page" into a
folder of his own.

Hi
It might be a good idea to purchase a third party membership script rather
than build one yourself unless of course you have the time with this project
and wish to learn. But like Tom said you will have to know what server type
you hosted on Unix (PHP) or Windows (ASP, ASP.NET) to find the script in the
language your server supports.
Some Windows servers can also run PHP as well as asp.

I have a call and an email into my ISP (I hope thats who you meant by
"host"). I will respond when I get that information.

Thanks

ISP = Internet Service Provider but they are not necessarily your host.

Web Hosts are usually dedicated to hosting web sites, not providing your
connection to the internet.
