The message format can depend on the Office version used as well as the
Exchange Server settings.
1. If the version of Outlook is 2000, there is a known bug where
meeting/appointment items sent with a reminder will generate a text file
rather than the expected meeting/appointment item. This happens when the
items are sent from newer clients and have the reminder set. The fix is to
uncheck the reminder before sending.
2. Some Exchange organizations set their server to strip formatting from
any item. To ensure that the appointment/event is sent in RTF, you need to
force it by right clicking the recipients name, select properties and check
the box to send in RTF.
