Sharon is right on.. the best mouse is the one that works for you, this
especailly applies to people who have to have the 'best' mouse for gaming.
I
have tried many mice (and i do NOT play PC gamez) the one I like best by a
huge margin is one thaat many don't even know exists. The Evoluent
Vertical
Mouse, for me anyway, is the most comfortable mouse ever made because of
the position of the hand; I think it is ingenious.. Go to Evoluent and
take
a look at it.. It is not another 'gimmick'.....

Previously was using the Explorer trackball (extra large ball) as I like
the extra precision in graphics programs that it provides. This
particular
Logitech uses a newer optical technology and is comparable in accuracy.
Ratio for physical movement/cursor movement is impressive. Picking up and
moving the mouse to accommodate left/right movements was annoying with
other optical mice I've tried. With this mouse it is only necessary when
working with HUGE images. I find it's not necessary for all other
day-to-day left/right maneuvers.
The base unit recharges the mouse. Other wireless units that I've tried
were disappointing but with this mouse a single charge lasts quite a
while
(weeks) even with heavy use. Did I mention that I enjoy being un-tethered
vs the wired trackball I used before? I tried this mouse after someone
recommended it in these newsgroups and, as you can tell, have been quite
happy with it.
I can second what Sharon has posted. The MX-1000 is the best mouse I have
ever used. I have used Logitech for many years. I have a Logitech
MarbleMouse (trackball) that was purchased when these first became available
many many years ago. It still gets daily use on my laptop, and while the
years have caused it to look less than pristine, it still operates just as
well as it did the day I bought it. Both of my Logitech keyboards (one
corded, one cordless) are also the best I have ever used...reliable, rugged
and user friendly.
If I were to recommend a brand, Logitech would be it. Webcams, keyboards,
speakers, game controllers,etc...Logitech always has the best quality and
features.
I have used Microsoft mice and keyboards in the past, and their build
quality and durability are very much inferior to Logitech. Kensington
products are even more inferior...I have never owned or used a Kensington
product that I liked or was worth the retail cost of the unit.
The above are based upon my own hands on experience, and are an accurate
reflection of those experiences. I will not respond to flames based upon
the fact that the flamer does not agree with my opinion, so don't waste your
time. And before anyone asks...I don not work for Logitech.
