Medieval II total war

Okay here's the problem my computer is two weeks old. I at one time played
Medieval War on the computer, then I downloaded updates from Microsoft and
now everytime I go to play the game the computer locks up. I have uninstalled
and intalled four times. I have downloaded the 1.2 patch still nothing. Can
anyone help me on how to get the game to work please.

I seem to have a similar problem. My new laptop with Vista loads the game
etc. and when I go to select and play the game, I am told that the demoshield
has stopped working and the game locks up where it is at. Demoshield will not
launch game. Any ideas ??
