How does this differ from other versions of Frontpage?
What exactly is it, and why is it usually cheaper to
purchase?

What media version???

How does what differ?

FP 2002 has a few newer features over FP97, 98 and 2000. FP 2003 has more new
features than 2002.

There are usually two releases - a full release and the upgrade, which owners of
previous versions can purchase, and usually it is cheaper.....it is still a
"full" version but the discount is for previous owners of licenced versions.

By chance are you referring to Windows Media Center Edition?
This is an OS (Windows XP Pro) with an additional shell
program for media.
