Hello all. I have a dilema here. The cd I received from
Dell for Win2K Advanced server has SP3 included but an
application I use cannot operate with SP3. I called Dell
to get another cd without SP3, but they say that's
Microsoft's responsibility.

Anyone have any experience in this area?

What to do, what to do...

Buy the Retail version !

Are you seriously suggesting that he pay over $3000 for a retail copy of
W2KAS just to get the media when he is already a legal owner of a
license for it??!

Brian, if Dell won't provide the media, I can't see how you could
possibly be in violation of the EULA if you got a colleague to burn you
a copy. Unless there is some weird agreement w/ the OEM that they're
selling you a license for W2KAS+SP3 specifically and nothing else.

Bottom line, you can always call MS Fulfillment and explain your
situation. You may have to provide proof of purchase (if I remember
correctly, Dell doesn't provide paper EULA's w/ their server purchases;
the bill of sales should suffice).

GL!
