media player shut down - mpeg2dmx.ax

When I try to open certain video files now media player
shuts down and says there is an error with mpeg2dmx.ax .
Also when I use my computer to browse my drive I get
error in explorer.exe mod mpeg2dmx.ax . Do I need to
remove this file and how so if I do . I am running
windows xp professional with media player 9.
 
I have the same problem, I think the best option is to
reinstall all your codecs.
