sounds like its knackered. remove it using add / remove
programs (add / remove windows components are on the left
panel), reboot, then add it back it using the same
method.
Won't actually work like you'd think - Add/Remove for WMP just hides it,
doesn't actually do anything helpful.
If you want to reinstall the player, simply install it over the top. That
activates the Reinstall mode which otherwise cannot be accessed, and does a
better job of ensuring that WMP is properly installed. If you're still
