Media Player - lack of proper colour

I'm playing WMV files. Some videos have a total lack of colour in them,
looking almost like a slightly more colourful negative. 16 bit colour would
be acceptable, some of these videos look more like 1 bit colour.

any ideas? Am I missing a codec? Media Player appears quite happy with the
file content.....

Steve.

It could be several issues, - frame rate and format (NTSC/PAL/Secam)
Or, it could be the files themselves? Have you tried them in other media
players? Or...
It could be your version of WMP?
Are you 100% confident that they are WMV format? (If so, doubtful
to be codec issue?)
You could try Gspot: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
This is an excellent freeware utility that identifies required codecs for
AVI's,
But, It is very limited in what it can do for other file formats, but it
will be able
to identify critical data concerning the format/file-type/frame rate of the
clips
that you are having problems with.
