media player in xp, and audio interface

say i have a dell mini and only want to use it to play music from an external
harddrive. and i wanted to play those through a board at a radio station. a
boosteroo or such headphone amplifier, or an audio interface? any details?
and how to maximize the media players abilities?

OK, if I understand you correctly you want to use a laptop with a USB HD on
which are stored songs you want to play through a board at a radio station ?

Buy a cheap USB soundcard that has a line out. Connect that to your
soundboard. Do not use a headphone amp or the headphone socket on your
laptop. Google USB soundcards and you'd be surprised what you find.

BTW, what is a boosteroo ?
