Media Player error C0011CD

Just recently I got that error message and I am not able to play any video or
CD.
I have Windows XP and I have updated to Professional edition without any
change.
I use Medial player version 10 and I also have tried version 11 - no luck
either.
If I use RealPlayer every thing works well, but not with Windows.

Please help.
