media player 9.0 black screen when playing mp3s

I received the latest MS update and suddenly Media Player
9.0 plays a black screen on every mp3 I try to play.
Anybody having this problem?

This is probably a codec problem.

Change the settings to allow WMP to automatically download
new codecs, then try again.
