Up until a little over a month ago I was using Windows Media Player 10 and
had AOL Hi-Q video. I had to do a system recovery on my PC in late May/early
June and when I got around to reinstalling the Windows Media Player it came
in as the 11 Beta version. I reinstalled the AOL Hi-Q Video after the next
set of shows became available and now I can't play them at all. I get the
error message "Windows Media Player error: Windows Media Player cannot
perform the requested action at this time. (-1072885292)" Does anyone know
how I can reconcile this problem so my In2TV shows will run, or at least how
to uninstall the Media Player 11 Beta version in order to download the 10 in
place of it? I never had problems with that one. Please email me any
responses at (e-mail address removed)

The option to uninstall WMP11 will be in Add/Remove Programs in the Control
Panel... you may have to check the Show Updates box at the top.

You should contact AOL for assistance with their HQ Video. It's proprietory
to AOL.

The Windows Media Player 11 Beta did not show up in the "Add/Remove Programs"
section, only the Real Time Player. The WMP did show up there when it was
version 10, but not after it was upgraded to 11 Beta. The error message did
not indicate anything wrong with the Hi-Q video and I had spent time chatting
with Tech specialists from AOL who finally decided that the error message
meant what it said and there was a Windows Media Player problem.

There is your answer: - "upgraded to 11 Beta"
Do any of you who download and install "Beta" software realise
what you are involving yourselves in?
"Beta" software is another phrase for "unproven, unconfirmed,
and usually incompatible".......................

lol I hardly did it on purpose. I hadn't even realized there was a Beta
version out - it only appeared this May after all - and the version 10 was
already an upgrade over what came with my XP software. Anyway, I found one
way out of it, but not a "true" fix. When trolling other help topics and
areas looking for advice, I saw some people recommending that a system
restore be run to fix various problems, so I tried that and then downloaded
the proper version 10 I'd been expecting when I first ran the upgrade. It's
working fine again, but it was a long day of searching for answers. *phew*
