But I want to rip at 192 kbps. If I try to rip at any higher rate than 56
kbps I get an error message and it tells me I have to install a compatible
MP3 encoder. My PC is a brand new Dell. Please help me solve this
frustrating problem!

Hmmmm,if i select "variable rate" i get 240 to 355kbps The next selection
gets
470-940kbps....My only encoder is WM 9 series.I'd imagine youre sound card
is needing an update,try the mfg web site,not dell..Better yet,get a pci
sound
card,sound blaster 5.1 live,running on windows drivers,costs about 25.00

Use 3rd party software - AudioGrabber for example. See post underneath for
the links.
