Media player 10 freezes while trying to update library

I have Windows Media 10 and just today it has started to freeze as soon as i
trie to update my library info by searching for album info. It's speratic
however. It'll work for say black eyed peas but not for green day. The player
will also freeze when i try to edit the info manually with advanced tag
editor. I have about 10.4 gb total. if you can think of anything that n=might
stop the player from freezing it would help a lot.
