Using Media Play R9 on XP....select copy to CD or device
to copy music file, get message, 'No Device Detected'. I
can read cds, but can't write to CD-Rs. Trouble shooter
sez its 'working properly'. Help

Me too...I am angery....I have been told the WMP 9 uploads
copywirte information off the web and so when you use a
product like RecordNow it does not find the music in the
Media Player Library....this never happend with the old
version of Windows Medial Player.

Hi, You have been mis-informed. WMP doesn't "upload" any information. WMP
will indeed download the correct ID3 tacks to go with your music. This
allows songs to have artist, track numbers, etc. *All good ripping software
will do this** It is *not* a feature of WMP and there is nothing wrong with
it.

When ripping in the WMA format in WMP9 you can *choose* to add DRM (Digital
Rights Management) to your tracks. To avoid it just turn it off!

RecordNow is a third party product. It will not and shouldn't interact with
WMP in any way. WMP include Roxio's burning plug-in to allow CD burning. If
you have problems with RecordNow you need to contact the maker.
