Media Disconnected(Unable to Connect to Internet)

I have a problem connecting to the internet. I have been
on the phone with my ISP help and Dell help. The ISP
people say I have no modem problems. Although my PC shows
no connection with the LAN. I did switch from Ethernet to
LAN to rule out a cable problem. When I do an IPCONFIG I
get a message cannot process while media is disconnected.
I have NoAdaware software and ran a scan before I started
experiencing problems. I did delete whatever files it
found as corrupt but didn't do a backup before deleting.
Could I have lost some file that will prevent me from
getting to the internet? Also, what can I do to gain
access again....Thanks.
 
Yes you most certainly could have deleted necessary files.

Try using System Restore to take you back to a time prior to when this
began, Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.
 
Thanks for the advice, it worked after doing some more
investigating. I did a system restore before I sent out
the original note but thought it didn't work. The ISP
Help desk person asked me to switch from ethernet to USB.
As a last resort I switched back to the ethernet
connection and my internet connection was restored. So
the System Restore worked......
