When accessing Media Center through the Media Center
Extender display screen shuts off immdiately and error
code saying "...cannot access the Media Center or heavy
processing going on..." Media Center cannot be accessed
throught the extender with this version installed.

This is a known issue with the beta builds released so far, I'm afraid. It
is referenced in the Known Issues linked to from the download locations, and
in the known issues section of the help file in build .509.

Here's the kb article about it:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892374 Windows Media Center Extender cannot
establish a remote connection after you install Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)
on a computer that is running Windows Media Center Edition 2005

I believe the workaround is to uninstall Microsoft Antispyware.

Just a small correction, you only have to disable antispyware when you need
media center extender functionality. Once you are done with the extender,
you can re-enable antispyware.

Thanks - someone else mentioned that as well--much simpler.
