Media Center will not see my Hauppauge HVR-1600

As the topic line says, Media Center *refuses* to see my Hauppauge
HVR-1600 TV Tuner. When I go to Settings->TV and try to set up my
Tuner, it says no tuner hardware was detected and Media Center
Receiver Service promptly crashes. Can anyone offer any advice? I
have tried multiple clearing and reinstallation of the drivers and
Googled my heart out, but every Google match is someone talking about
the HVR-1600 gets along peachy-keen with Media Center right out of the
box.

In the 'Search For' panel above, type

To All With Vista TV Tuner Card Problems

click on the GO button, wait for it to find
and try the suggestion from nyound.

It might work, won't hurt to try !

It should do. Vista has native drivers and "they just work".
