although automatic deletion of temp internet files is checked off under
advanced tab of of tools in ie 6, this option does no work. pls, what must i
do to get it to function?

Did you close all instances of IE and Windows Explorer before checking the
TIF? The delete won't happen until the last one is closed. Even then, IE
won't delete files that it didn't put there itself. Other processes,
Outlook Express is particular, may store files in the TIF and neglect to
remove them. To deal with this, you should occasionally go to INtenet
Options, click on Delete Files, check "Delete all offline content" and
click OK. That will get the TIF as clean as you can get it while logged
on.
