I have placed some AVI clips on a DVD. Now I am trying to
transfer one of these files back to the system and it will
not transfer.

It appears that Media Player wants to start playing, or at
least get ready to preview the clip by opening a small
window to show the first frame.

When clicking on the drive letter to open the folder, it
does show me the files, but locks up the second I try to
access one or just send it to a folder on the hard drive.

Is it possible to stop Media Player from wanting to
preview the clip, and just let me transfer it in the same
way I transfer other large files?

Thanks !

Probably the easiest way temporarily is to go to the window's Tools:Folder
Options menu (I think - I'm on XP, not on Windows 2000) and turn off the
whole web view for the folder and go back to classic view, since that
doesn't have Preview. :)
