I got a quick question, not sure if you can answer this but perhaps you can shed some light on it.

We all know of USB drives (or at least hope so) and the speed limitations of 2.0 USB, So why hasnt anyone made any firewire flashdrives? i think it would make plenty of sense, since a few new mobos have firewire built right in.

I dont know the answer, but i would like to.

err, they do make 'em. ;)

That fact is, they make EIDE, SATA, USB & Firewire flash drives. :thumb:

SATA II has a theoretical faster throughput rate then std Firewire ... Firewire is Apple's name for IEEE 1394 High Speed Serial Bus, they initiated the the spec in the first place.

In all fairness, Firewire is far superior to USB ... however, it costs more and Apple want 'royalties' off the manufactures of MBs & other devices for using it ... :p

Betamax v VHS ... blue-ray v HDD
