Measure Distances in an Image

[Invisible Pedestrian]

I have some jpg pics of architectural drawings where I know the scale. Say
it's 100dpi, and 1" = 10ft. It's easy enough to convert in a program such
as Paint Shop Pro, but is there a standalone utility or a PSP plugin that
will allow for measurement of distances in the image, giving me real
measurements in feet and not pixels?

After some digging, I decided to use the GIMP image editor, which has a
measuring tool built-in.

You'd think Paint Shop would have had something like that as part of base
functionality, but if it did I couldn't locate it.

The JR ruler freeware version cannot be rotated, so you can only
measure horizontal distances.

It (v1.4) can be "flipped" to measure vertical distances. Hit the F
key, or right-click on the ruler and choose Flip.

An alternative to Meazure is MB ruler, which has a lot of features in
its freeware version.
