I have a 2000 server based network, recently replacing an NT4 server.
One of my users in particular is using ME and was able to log on just fine
until today. Now, she gets an error message saying that the server has
denied access. I have reset the password on the server, and the client
recognised the instruction to change the password at next logon, but still
no actual successful logon.
The client is definitely seeing the server.
Any ideas?
While we are at it, how do I enable auditing of logons on the server? (Step
by step would be appreciated, I failed to find any useful information in the
server help files).
Thanks
Dave

.
Did you look at the event log?
Try this secedit /refreshpolicy MACHINE_POLICY /enforce
also secedit /refreshpolicy USER_POLICY /enforce

You can enable auditing by opening your AD right click on
the name of server.domain and go to properties, go to
local group policy, press edit, explode computer
configuration, windows settings, local policies, and go
into audit policy and decide what you want enable.

Yes, I looked in the event log. :(
That's how I know I want to enable auditing. (gnashing teeth, I managed it
easily in NT4).
Thanks for the reply.

Got WINS installed on the server? ME needs it. What does the ipconfig/all
look like? Is everything pointing to your server-IP?
