I have 4 computers on a workgroup. Three are XP and one is ME. One of the XP
machines cannot see the ME machine. The ME machine can see the one XP
machine but I get the error message \\computername is not accesible when I
try to connect to it. I checked all the network protocols and setting on the
XP machine and as far as I can tell they are all exactly alike. This same
thing happens on another wireless network in another location on different
XP machines but with the same ME machine.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Does anyone have a suggestion?

1. Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall on
local area network connections -- it's for use only on a direct modem
connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all other
firewalls while troubleshooting. Details here:

Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall

2. Use only one protocol for File and Printer Sharing. If the network
needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing from all
but one of them. Details here:

Windows XP Network Protocols

3. Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all computers.
Details here:
