I've produced an MSI file, using Installshield Developer 8 (with SP2),
which includes the MDAC 2.8 Merge Module.
I am attempting to deploy my MSI file using Active Directory/Group
Policy. Whilst the application claims to install properly, I am
finding the the MDAC components are NOT being installed properly. I
have to go to Add/Remove programs and run a repair on the application
before it starts working (and when I run the repair, I see MDAC flash
up a progress dialog, so it's installing more files).
The merge module is configured to run in the execute sequence, with
reboot location set to 0 (since setting it to 1 seems to cause the
whole installation to hang).
The Software Installation is configured on the computer settings,
rather than the user settings.
Has anybody seen this, got any useful suggestions of where to search
for more help, etc. This has been driving me mad for about a week now,
and I'm getting sick and tired of rebuilding the test machine.
Cheers for any help, and apologies in advance if you feel I'm posting
to the wrong group(s)
