Hello,

T-Com (Telecom) using a the PPC 2003 as OS.

There have a folder ExtendetROM - this folder is persitant even after a hard
reset.
In that folder T-Com stored CAB-File and a CONFIG-File for their needs.

The folder is stored in "ChipDisk" (may it called different)

For better unstanding may go here:
http://www.ppcw.net/index.php?itemid=1638

My question:

Could I use with other PPC, like HP5550, the sam technique for storing
files. So that after hardreset, my program installed automaticly?

Thank you

Matthias

If the device is equipped with the same hardware, yes, you can use it.
Obviously, if there's a chip that needs to be installed on the board and
designed into the circuit and it is not there on a given device, then you
can't use it. You could use a PCMCIA, CF, or SD card for that kind of
thing, if your target hardware supports them.

Thank you
Do you have any idea - how i could read about
if that device have additional hardware or not?

Thank you

Well, gee, how about in the sales documentation for the device? Or maybe
the manual? This is *not* rocket science; it's just common sense.
