When I try to shut down WinXP, I get an error message that
states MCI_HANDLING_COMMAND. If I try to END NOW, the
message keeps popping up, and the system won' shut down
(if I am shutting down from my profile) Other profiles on
the same system don't show the same symptom. Please
eamail me a response in addition to posting it. Thanks

Hi Eric,

Open Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices" > Sounds and set it to "No
Sounds"
See if the problem is solved. If yes, the problem might be caused by the
windows exit wave file.
