while surfing,i will frequently get a pop-up from Mcafee
saying that" svhost.exe wants access to the internet.
path c:\windows\svhost.exe...I went looking for it and was
told that it was not a valid win32 application.how can i
fix this.

You do know that just keeping your virus scanner up-to-date is not enough,
One needs to perform scans after every update. Most A-V software will get
rid of this little worm. Boot into safe-mode (F8 at start-up) and do full
system scan.
