When there was a not dissimilar incident involving Microsoft Antispyware and
an antivirus vendor, about a month and a half back, some folks excused the
incident using "beta" as part of that excuse.

McAfee's difficulties illustrate that this kind of incident isn't limited to
beta products.

It looks to me as though they've done a good job of both getting fixed
definitions out quickly. and providing some tools to help their customers
recover.
