PC World is selling McAfee Internet Security 2005 + Quickscan for £24.75,
the offer ends today Tuesday 12th April. Is it any good and would it be
worthwhile buying at this price? I have got spyware stored in the memory on
my computer as well as a toolbar that keeps sending pop-ups, it has taking
over Outlook Express. Everything I have tried hasn't got rid of it. I am
running XP. I tried some of the links that Lew/+Silat advised me in my last
post (11/04/05 Spy-Ware) that he said was free, but once I install (Spybot -
Search & Destroy FREE), and it found the spy-ware, I was asked for nearly
$30.00 to remove the spyware, hence the question, would buying McAfee be a
good move? If this post is sent more than once it is another error?

Spybot is free. It never asks for money. Me thinks you got a dodgy
version from a dodgy source.

Also a good idea to use a backup program as well ie microsofts antispyware
and or adwarese from www.lavasoftusa.com

never had spybot ask for paymnet tho not a big user of it.
