Perhaps is this the wrong thing to do, but this is a desperate cry for other
it-experts, who have any experience with the MCAFEE WEBSHIELD APPLIANCE
E250. If you don't, do not waste yout time to read any further!

I work as a system engineer for a construction company in Holland and we
bought for our anti-viraldefense a Webshield Appliance E250. Works like a
charm on inbound-traffic, but we cannot send emailmessages with
attachments!!

The company which sold us the dawn thing sends a consultant which costs
about ? 1700 a day, who cannot solve this issue!

Are there any IT-experts who recognize this problem? And can help us out
here?

Thnx...

Robbert

Did you contact McAfee tech support?

Good question : why did you pay for an expert while the vendor support is
the first team to call for ? If any MacAfee experts exist I assume you will
find them at the MacAfee support

Note that I wrote "I assume" ;:-)

I suggest you check your content rules and any restrictions you may have
on the SMTP proxy.

Also, check whether your inside and outside networks are configured
correctly with the right IP ranges and domain names assigned. A lot of the
blocking and anti-relay etc is based on this information, so you need it
to be correct.

If you are not having any joy, and it is the reseller who is providing
first line support, tell them to escalate it to their support contact in
McAfee / Network associates who can further assist. Provide them with the
backup file of the configuration and the logs.
