I am having a lot of trouble with McAfee. The updater doesn't work, the support chat
doesn't know anything except how to tell you to uninstall it. I have a cable
connection that acts like a dial up with McAfee. My man at Staples sold me Panta
suite. Does anyone know anything about it before I open the box? Thanks

Hi there!
Don't open the box! My step dad had bought one (Panda) and had nothing
but problems with it! We both use AVG you can get it off the Internet
for free and it works a hole lot better than McAfee or Norton. You can
buy the AVG program, but it works great for free off the Internet.
Don't open the box take it back!! Hope this works for you. Have a nice
day!

Out of interest what windows version are you running Mcafee Vs on?

Updater was causing issues till mcafee pushed a security centre update to
6.0.22 through.

I'm using Panda Titanium 2006 with no problems.
Its very agressive in the default setting, so you may want to
turn off some features. I'm using Windows XP Pro.

VS9 and 10 are causing slow down issues with windows 98. It is hoped that
the new 5000 engine might assist but till that is released fully we will not
know if it helps. it does improve scanning speed on my winxp PC.

Try scanning with an online scanner to see if anything is resident.
alternatively go to David's site and try his scanning methods:
