Mcafee & Vista

To group and particularly Gary. In an effort to understand the problem
better I am still running both of the above with one possibly unrelated
hiccup. 1) I set up a new user account for my grand kids and set standard
Parental Control to on. Mcafee went crazy blocking Register changes while
allowing others. Upon reboot the system failed all over the place taking a
very long time. It couldn't find anything. I fix it with System Recover.
Won't try that again.
2) Something unknown to me is setting Mcafee "Real Time Virus Protection" to
off arbitrarily. If I reset it to on, some hours later it gets reset to
off. When I check my protection status Mcafee says I'm properly protected. I
think Real-Time has something to do with Email. This is just some info and
I'm not trying to convince people to use Mcafee. Your thoughts please.

Frankly, I won't let anything "McAfee" within a 10 foot radius of any
of my computers. Over the years I've heard too many tales of woe
from those who used it.
Just uninstall it and get the free Avast antivirus.

I don't see the relevance to my comments. My POP3 mail is also filtered on
the server side as are many ISP servers.
