Fred Ma

Hello,

I just tried to doubleclick the McAfee VirusScan console
on the system tray. Nothing happened (usually, I am
able to scan a file). I was logged in as nonadmin.
I tried accessing it from Start->ProgramFiles->etc...
and was given the message that I don't have sufficient
privileges to do that action.

I logged out and logged in as an admin. I could get
the McAfee VirusScan console by doubleclicking it on
the system tray.

I don't recall this restrictive behaviour. I perused
the help, but can't seem to find anything about it.
Is there a way to get back (what I remember to be) the
normal behaviour, where a nonadmin can call up the
McAfee VirusScan console?

Thanks.

Fred

Give the account 'nonadmin' administrator rights.

I presume that "B" stands for "book".

I tried the online help, and haven't found anything
about nonadmin adminstrator rights. The closest thing
that I see is Power Users, which the nonadmin account
is already.

Anyway, the real sys admin has clarified that he
installed McAfee that way, so I won't be trying to
change that. Thank you for your suggestion
nevertheless.
