McAfee Virusscan 8.0 & Personal Firewall Plus

Ever since I purchased McAfee Virusscan 8.0 and the Personal Firewall Plus
one week ago I have been having some rather extreme problems with the
software. The most irritating is that I lost the information regarding my
username to post to their online technical forums so I cannot recieve
assistance. It indicates for me to contact the "Forum Administrator". Yet, I
cannot find any information regarding an email address, and I sure as hell
do not wish to phone for help considering the money it costs. A simple
connection with an email address would do nicely. I even learned that my
password doesn't seem to always work. When I try to edit information for my
account it doesn't accept my password, even though I have it sent to me in
an email! Furthermore, I have learned that the Emergency Startup disks it
creates malfunction when scanning. It freezes the computer, displays a blank
window with all sorts of cryptic characters displayed in the background. And
I followed the creation of one of these disks to the letter! Lastly, the
Personal Firewall Plus seems to wreck havoc with my dialup connection to the
Internet. It disconnects prematurely and continually. What kind of a product
is this CRAP!!! I would be very interested to know if someone on this forum
has had the same experiences as I had so far. This is rediculous, McAfee was
once a good product for me what happened?

Ok substitute @ for {at}Email here to sort out login problems

If you had been complaining re Vs8 I would understand however PFP 5 the
latest mcafee firewall, is really simple to setup and seems to work fine on
mine and many pcs I have read about.

It is a tad too simple for some as it cannot be tweaked nor does it log
outgoung events.

I would initially try to do a full uninstall and then reinstall.Re the
firewall it isnt blocking an Ip address that the isp needs for connection to
stay up. Ie in cable we can have a "heartbeat server" that checks if the pC
is there every 2 mins. If the check is blocked it drops the connection.

Re the emergency disk thought this was not available in vs8.Though there was
a discussion here
