Hello, All!
I find McAfee Virus Scan and all their security programs to work
pretty well and I am not interested in discussing relative
merits of competitors at this point.
However, a computer scan at the default scheduled time of 8:00
AM Friday is unsuitable for me since I usually check my e-mail
then. It's not that I can't use Outlook Express but the
concurrent McAfee scan slows things down.
I did find out how to turn off the scan from McAfee but the
information on changing the schedule is inaccurate and hard to
understand. I will now post a route that works for me in the
hope that others might find it useful. As always, suggestions
for better, well-read news groups will be appreciated.
McAfee Scheduled Scan
Setting time
Right click M
Open Security Center
? Scan
? Configure
? Computer and Files
? Advanced
? Scheduled Scan
If the schedule is Reset, the annoying 8AM Friday will be set.
