Hi there,

I am trying to install McAfee Virus Scan 7 Home Edition in
a computer with Windows 2000 Server. The problem is that
the Home Edition is not for Windows 2000 Server but for
Windows 2000 Pro, and it doesn't get installed. How can I
make a Windows 2000 Server behave as a Windows 2000 Pro so
I can install the antivirus? (I don't have users connecting
to my machine, actually I use my Windows 2000 Server as it
was a Windows 2000 Pro).

Thanks in advance.

Guido.

Get a product that's compatible with W2k server. And avoid McAfee if you
value your sanity.

The thing is that I didn't buy the McAfee box and that I have to install it
on a client's computer.

Then tell your client to bay a server grade antivirus.
You can't install it.

McAfee says that the only antivirus that works on Windows Servers is the
VirusScan Enterprise, and you have to pay at least 5 users licence (when I
will have just one) :(.
