But let's look at it carefully. The original question was what did
Microsoft Antispyware do to Windows Update?
And, now that I think of it--there have been several recent threads here
about interference with update processes of various kinds, right?
And, the answer, in the end, was that it wasn't Microsoft Antispyware that
was at fault--it was the antivirus, and the antivirus vendor had a patch.
This is parallel to the other thread. The question was what had Microsoft
Antispyware done to VB.NET, and it turned out that it was the antivirus
vendor that had done in VB.NET, and the antivirus vendor had a patch (same
vendor
)
So--neither patch has anything to do with Microsoft Antispyware, per
se--they both happen to fix issues that a given poster had originally blamed
on Microsoft Antispyware.
Do you agree that is how this looks--reading back? I don't think there's a
"patch" for issues with Microsoft Antispyware--but there are patches for
some issues with other apps with at least this particular antivirus vendor.
