McAfee Firewall inhibits Explorer 6

I bought the McAfee Firewall, and as soon as it is
installed the Explorer 6 does not work anymore. The Window
opens, but it cannot reach any URLs. Even when I reduce
all the firewall's security settings, it wont let me get
on the net. Only when I totally remove the firewall
software from my computer, then the explorer works again.
Does anybody know, wether I have to change some settings,
or is Explorer 6 just not compatable with the McAfee
Firewall software ????
