McAfee 8!

Hi,

I'm currently running McAfee 8 as deployed by ePO on a few hundred
workstations. Our ePO server is temporarily down, so I was going to
reset some machines to get their dat updates via nai ftp
However, they refuse to switch from checking the (currently
nonexistant) ePO server!

To change the download location, I opened the virusscan console,
tools->edit autoupdate repository list, disabled epo and enabled ftp
No joy


Can anyone lend me some advice?

My guess is that they are protected settings becuase they were set voa ePO. You may have to
shutdown the McAfee services, change the associated registry settings, then re-start the
McAfee services in VirusScan 8.0i to effect the change.
