well, atm on intel based machines you divide the fsb by 4

eg 800/4 = 200fsb ram (DDR400/pc3200)
533/4 = 133fsb (DDR 266/pc2100)

amd you divide fsb by 2

Thank you, that's what I was looking for.

By the way, why FSB/4... what is the significance of 4 ?

And what is "atm" ?

TIA

4 because the bus is quad-pumped.

Hi:

How do I know what type of ram I should be using... e.g. If I am using:

1. A 800 FSB Motherboard, 2.4G P4

2. A 533 FSB Motherboard, 1.7G Celeron

Is there a "methodology" to determine what goes with what?

TIA
