No.Thanks

I'm hoping to pick some of your brains. I've currently got an FX-55 with
a couple of gigs of RAM and that is coupled with an X1900XTX PE that
will soon have a companion crossfire edition X1900. I know I'll be
upgrading the CPU down the road (probably next year sometime) but was
wondering what MB currently available is good for me with expansion
possibilities for the future. I'll probably be looking for a dual core
compatible board. Suggestions? Thanks!

AM2 is the future, atleast for AMD. Any AM2 motherboard with
Crossfire/SLI should do.

You are stuck with a 939 board.. I think the AM2 boards are the only
ones that you have any upgrade path. Does that mean that ur memory is
DDR as well?

And I've now been straightened out about my belief that a 939 pin FX
CPU will work with a AM2 board...

Yup, will have to upgrade that down the road as well.

If you go with an AM2.. you need DDR2...

Don't that suck?! I think DDR2 is a waste until system overcome the
latencies,or the latencies are reduced on the ram itself.CAS 5 geez.
