Hi guys,
I know this isn't necessarily a windows issue but the support around here is
great so I thought i'd see if someone knows the answer. I have a sony laptop
running XP with Intel Centrino and whenever I try to play the newer EA sports
games such as Madden or NHL 06 the games run abnormally fast whenever the
computer is started up or restarted when running on batteries. If the
computer is started up when it's plugged in the games run fine, even if i
unplug the computer after start up. I know this a known issue with the games
but i can't find a solution, I've tried running the computer as a Desktop
under the power options but it don't work. Hopefully someone can help or
point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Do you have settings to control the CPU speed? Probably provided by some
Sony software on the machine?

EA have shown little interest in issues a patch (it effects a lot of their
sport titles), basically the game detects a lower CPU speed while on the
desktop, then as the CPU cranks up as the game starts running then the game
finds itself running too fast. :(
