My question is how would you tell Access to take the text in one column of a
table and go into a folder in the computer and open each pdf and name that
pdf with the sequential records in the Access column?
 
I am sorry but I am new to this website. What is the link to the
modulescoding forum? I could not find it when I searched.

With some fairly complicated VBA code using the Dir() and Name() functions.
Certainly nothing builtin to Access as a query. See the online help for Dir
and for Name for examples; post back if you have problems.
 
Just look in the table of contents over to the left. Expand the Office
Solutions node, then the Access node. You'll see them.
