maxtor hard drives 6E040L0 and 6L040J2 differences?

I think both these hard drives are listed as 7200RPM ata-133 2b cache. (40mb)

6E040L0 diamond max plus 8

6L040J2 d740x-dl

so err.... can anyone tell me the differnce between them?

Does that mean same drive, different selling name? Or are there
differences?

That mean absolutely different drives with similar selling names. They
are different on a design, firmware ideology, density of record, the
manufacturing place, year of release, in general they are similar only
an inscription "Maxtor".

Approximately equally, IMHO. DMP8 - one of the least reliable modern
drives. D740 is better by design, but to it about two years, or it is
repaired.
