Did you try www.maxtor.com ? They have excellent documentation
on drives all the way back to the 40MB 7040A.

Maxtor doesn't put that information on the drive?

This .PDF should help you determine if your jumper panel is Style A1, A2, B or C
and will show you jumper settings for each style. Look at Figure 6 on page 9.

Did you try www.maxtor.com ? They have excellent documentation
on drives all the way back to the 40MB 7040A.

On Maxtor's site there is a tool called MaxBlast it has lots of info

about the drive settings and diagrams too, also includes disk utilities such
as overlay etc.
