I've installed a Maxtor 200Gb disk in a casing and connected it to the puter
with USB cable.
On a separate USB 2.0 card.
Partitioned it with Acronis PartitionExpert.

WARNING, ALL DATA ON NON-REMOVABL
DRIVE M: WILL BE LOST!
Proceed with Format (Y/N)? y
Verifying 194474M
The volume is too big for FAT32.

Devided it into 2 partitions and formatted one with the below result.

C:\>format L:
The type of the file system is FAT32.

WARNING, ALL DATA ON NON-REMOVABLE DISK
DRIVE L: WILL BE LOST!

Question:
How or what do I use to format the USB dive?
Can I or can't I use one big partition with FAT32?

If you MUST use FAT32 then you're gonna have to partition your new hard disk
into several (7?) partitions of 32GB or less.

Alternatively, you can take your USB drive to a Win98 computer, install the
drivers for it, and then format it there. Windows 2000 can USE FAT32
partitions greater than 32GB, it just can't create them. This behaviour is
by design, FAT32 becomes very inefficient with disks/partitions greater than
32 GB.

I believe even with Win98's FDISK you're still limited -- to
127.5GB per volume. If I'm wrong about that, someone
please chime in.

You're right, 127.53 GB is the limit. I figured the OP would discover that
on his own if he decided on that option.
